Air Purifier

What is an air purifier?

An "air cleaner" is another term for an "air purifier." Both are designed to remove indoor air pollutants and particulates. When these types of appliances first came on the market, they were typically called air cleaners, but in recent years, they are primarily referred to as an air purifier.

Why do I need an air purifier?

It is a commonly known fact that Outdoor Air Pollution has reached alarming levels in India –both in terms of suspended particulate matter and toxicity. A recent World Health Organisation (WHO) Global survey report has ranked 13 Indian cities among the World’s top 20 most Air Polluted cities. While there is lot of awareness and corrective measures being taken to combat outdoor air pollution, unfortunately none of us are worrying about a bigger threat- Indoor Air Pollution (syndicated reports indicate that Indoor Air is up to 10 times more polluted than Outdoor Air). An average Indian spends over 18 hours indoors (home, workplace, schools, cars), blissfully ignorant about the ill effects of Indoor Air Pollution. In winters we keep the rooms closed to be cozy, and in summers the rooms are closed to make the air conditioning effective. So there is very little scope of cross ventilation and circulation of air. Thus, there is an urgent need of Air Purifiers indoors to ensure our near and dear ones respire clean air.

How do air purifiers work?

There are portable room air purifiers, designed to clean a specific-sized room, and there are whole-house installed air purification systems that work with the HVAC system in a home. A portable room air purifier is the least expensive way to significantly reduce indoor air pollution.Portable room air purifier models are typically categorized based on their cleaning technology: HEPA filtration, electrostatic precipitation, and negative ion generation. Some air purifier brands use a combination of these technologies. There are also air purifiers which are designed just for chemical removal. In addition to airborne particles, some air purifier lines also have technologies, like ultraviolet light, which remove viruses, bacteria, fungi, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), odors, and some gaseous chemicals (e.g. Radon, SOX’s and NOX’s). Activated carbon blends and a variety of other substances may be used to capture gases and odours.

What all air impurities can be removed in air purifier ?

Air purifier removes pollen, Bacteria, smoke, Formaldehyde and volatile organic compound.

Can air water purifier work without electricity ?

No. All Livpure RO Waterpurifiers run on electicity.

How many air purifiers do I need?

Ideally, there should be a unit in the bedroom and the area of your home where you tend to spend most of your time, like the living room. It is particularly important to sleep in a clean room. The respiratory system slows down at night and it can be more difficult to breathe easily if the air quality is bad. The cleaner the sleeping room, the better the sleep quality. One shall also find the nose less clogged in the morning, if sleeping in an air purified room.

How frequently does an air purifier need servicing ?

The filters in the Air purifiers needs to be replaced depending on the shelf life which spans from 6 months to 1 year.

Does an air purifier cost a lot to use?

There are two cost considerations for long-term air purifier maintenance: power consumption and filter changes. Generally, a higher quality purifier is engineered to be energy-saving and uses minimal electricity. Filter requirements vary by brand. Some brands have monitors that indicate when the filters should be changed, while others stipulate the number of months a filter should last. All Livpure products have a filter life indicator, which warns the consumer about the filter change, when required.

How do we know whether our air purifier is working?

Post installation, the room should be noticeably cleaner and less dust particles should be observed in the room. Breathing would be easier and one tends to feel light. Morning congestion, nose blockage and allergy symptoms should reduce. The air in the room should no longer feel heavy or stuffy.

How do I know when to change the filters?

Filter changes depend on the brand and the model. Some air purifier models feature filter life indicators that warn the customer when to change the filters. Others have a time period, post which the filters are required to be changed.

Do air purifiers add to noise pollution?

The decibel level of an air purifier varies with the speed. Most are fairly loud on the highest speed. It is wise to run the purifier on high when you are not in the room. The highest speed will enable it to pull the air in from the farthest areas of the space. On lower speeds, air purifiers are much quieter. All the air purifiers in the Livpure range are below 60 decibels, which is well within the permissible level of noise.

Will an air purifier help with my pets?

Gone are the days of rehoming beloved pets due to allergies. A quality air purifier helps to dramatically reduce pet dander and odour, especially if placed near where the pet spends a lot of time.If there are pets in the home, it is important to use air purifiers. For example, cats lick their fur, and once the saliva dries to a fine dust, it becomes airborne. Similarly, pet birds shake their feathers, and the super fine dust becomes airborne. Pets also trap in allergens from the outdoors which can be removed by an air purifier. The odours associated with excretion can also be removed by an air purifier with activated carbon.

Where should I place my air purifier for maximum effectiveness?

All air purifiers are designed to clean air in confined spaces. It's ideal to place an air purifier in the room where you spend most of your time. For most people, this place is the bedroom (sleep time) or office cabins (work hours).Air Purifiers can be floor consoles (placed on the floor), table tops (to be placed at a height) or wall mounted (generally for industrial use). The Air Purifier has to be kept 1 foot away from the wall, and there should be no curtain near it.Livpure’s Products :SmartO2 580 : Floor Console, FreshO2 450 : Floor Console, FreshO2 130 : Table Top, FreshO2 Car Purifier : Car’s Bottle trap.
