What is a huge turn-off when you enter your car? The smell and the dust for sure. There are so many different odours and pollutants in your car that you are probably not aware of—cigarette smoke, dust mites, pet faeces, mildew, fast food wrappers, fluids, chemicals and more.

There’s one simple solution to all your issues—a car air purifier. If you’re looking for a single ingredient that’ll help you get rid of all these pollutants and odours from your car, vinegar is your answer. Vinegar absorbs all kinds of odours from your car. It is also a great cleaning agent that helps you get rid of various kinds of stains and other impurities from your vehicle. Mix vinegar with clean water or pair it up with baking soda or other cleansing agents and use the solution to clean your car. You can also use it in its undiluted form.

It is important to maintain the hygiene of your car because your entire family uses it. The pollutants inside your car can cause serious damage to the health of your passengers. So, don’t get used to the smells and dust. Use vinegar to clean your car and make it a pleasant experience for everyone who takes a ride in it. Or better still, install a Car Air Purifier.

1) Cigarette smoke

If you smoke in your car or someone in your family does, you’ll always have a lingering smell in your vehicle. A car air purifier will help get rid of the smell. Alternatively, you can place two towels into two separate plastic bowls and fill them with white distilled vinegar. If you have a big vehicle, use additional bowls. Place the plastic bowls in your car with the vinegar-soaked towels. Place one near the ashtray and the other one on the backseat. The vinegar will absorb the cigarette odours from your car. Repeat if needed.

2) Mildew

Mould and mildew can cause serious respiratory disorders, especially if you have kids at home. Fill a small spray bottle with white vinegar and spray it on the affected areas in your car including carpet and the seat covers. Let it sit for one or two hours. Scrub the mildew with a damp micro-fibre cloth or a toothbrush.

3) Carpet cleaning

There are so many more pollutants on your car’s carpet than you can imagine. You don’t feel the need to clean it more often, but you should. Mix vinegar with peroxide and water in 1:1:2 ratios. This solution is one of the best carpet cleaners that you’ll find. It removes all the stains without having to put too much of effort. You can test the solution on a small area to check for discolouration. If it doesn’t discolour your carpets, you can safely use it to clean stains from your car’s carpets and interiors.

4) Removing road salt stains

Getting rid of road salt stains from the car’s interiors is a hassle. Mix equal parts of water and vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray this solution on the stains of the carpet. Let it sit for an hour and then wipe off with a towel or damp cloth.

6) Deodorise your car

After getting rid of the odours and pollutants, it’s important to keep the odours away. That’s why you need to deodorise your car. Mix equal amounts of vinegar, water and a tablespoon of lime juice or any other essential oil. Place this mixture in a spray bottle. Spray the solution near the AC vent. Switch on the engine and run the fan on full speed. Close all the windows and let the fragrance fill your car. It will get rid of all the unwanted odours from your vehicle.

Aren’t you amazed by the wonders of vinegar? This simple ingredient from your kitchen shelf can help you make your car clean and hygienic without having to spend a huge sum of money. Wait no more, get that bottle of vinegar and have fresh smelling car again!
