When the ‘God of Cricket’ stresses on the importance of pure drinking water, you realise that the quality of water plays a significant role. Sachin Tendulkar has joined hands with Livpure Foundation to launch "ShuddhPaani, Swasth Bharat" initiative for promoting the cause of availability of clean drinking water to every household.
What’s the situation in India when it comes to clean water?
The national healthcare survey of 2013 suggests that less than one-third of households in India have access to purified water. It’s disappointing! With the advancement in technology, more people across the country should have easy access to pure and healthy drinking water.
As Sachin rightly pointed out, most common infectious diseases are waterborne. It’s important that people are aware of the risks and educated about the need to drink clean water. "ShuddhPaani, Swasth Bharat" is an initiative to safeguard children’s health and reduce/eradicate child mortality in India.
The aim is to bring purity in the lives of every Indian by providing access to clean water. Access to clean water on a sustainable basis is the fundamental and unalienable human right. Livpure Foundation seeks to address this crucial problem facing our population at large.
According to WHO’s estimates, about 5,02,000 Indians are affected by waterborne diseases yearly. Furthermore, 3,61,000 children under the age of five die of diarrhoea annually. The only solution to this problem is providing clean drinking water.
How is Livpure helping the community?
The "ShuddhPaani, Swasth Bharat" campaign is designed to restore cleanliness of water bodies and help maintain an ecological balance in the environment. The main challenge of inadequate drinking water available to low-income groups still needs to be resolved.
The Livpure Foundation is a social service, non-profit, apolitical, and non-sectarian organisation with a pan India presence. Its aim is to reach out to different communities across the country and provide clean and purified water. The foundation continues to aid people in West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana.
Livpure is India’s fastest growing point-of-use water purification company and has more than one million users. Through the Livpure Foundation, the company is looking forward to helping more number of people in different regions. India needs more important initiatives such as "ShuddhPaani, Swasth Bharat" that impact our communities and help citizens lead happy and healthier lives.
